Getaro (getaro.co.uk) is a UK deals curation site. We list discounted products from UK retailers and link to them. You can reach us through the contact page.
Getaro has no accounts, no sign-ups and no forms that ask for your name, email or address. We do not collect personal details directly.
We use two analytics services to understand how the site is used: Google Analytics 4 and the Pinterest tag. These record usage data such as pages visited, deals clicked, device type, browser and approximate location derived from your IP address. We view anonymised, aggregate reports. We do not use this data to identify you. We process it under our legitimate interest in understanding how the site is used so we can improve it.
Google Analytics and Pinterest set cookies or similar identifiers in your browser to distinguish visits. Getaro sets no cookies of its own. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works fully without them.
Deal links on Getaro are affiliate links. When you click one, you are taken to the retailer (for example eBay) with a tracking parameter that tells the retailer the visit came from us. If you buy something, Getaro may earn a commission. The price you pay never changes. Once you are on a retailer's site, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.
Google Analytics (Google Ireland Ltd), the Pinterest tag (Pinterest Europe Ltd) and the eBay Partner Network (operated by the eBay group of companies). Each processes the data described above under its own privacy policy. We do not sell your data to anyone, and we do not send marketing emails because we never have your email.
Analytics data is retained for the standard periods set by Google Analytics and Pinterest, after which it is deleted or aggregated. Getaro keeps no separate copies of visitor data.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct or erase personal data, to restrict or object to its processing, and to data portability. Because we hold no directly identifying data, most requests are best directed at the third parties above, but contact us and we will help where we can. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top.
